Anhui Tiankang Group served as the instrumentation package supplier for the water treatment systems of the Bangladesh S. Alam 2×660MW coal-fired power plant EPC project, supporting the EPC supply chain of a large-scale ultra-supercritical power project with engineered pressure and temperature measurement solutions. Anhui Tiankang delivered pressure gauges, industrial thermometers, and instrumentation accessories in August 2020, providing reliable measurement throughout the seawater desalination and boiler feedwater treatment processes.
The project, located in Banshkhali, Chittagong, is owned by Bangladesh's S. Alam Group. On October 14, 2016, the project was jointly unveiled by the leaders of China and Bangladesh during the Chinese President's state visit. SEPCOIII serves as both the EPC contractor and a minority investor under the BOO model.
The project features two 660MW ultra-supercritical coal-fired units employing seawater DC cooling and seawater desulfurization technology. It is the largest single-unit capacity thermal power project in Bangladesh, with an annual generation capacity of approximately 10 billion kWh.
The plant successfully achieved commercial operation in 2023 — Unit 2 completed its 168-hour reliability trial run on September 17, 2023, 70 days ahead of schedule, and Unit 1 followed on October 22, 2023, 35 days ahead of schedule. The project received its Final Acceptance Certificate (FAC) on December 19, 2024.

Pressure Measurement
Pressure gauges were selected with suitable materials and wetted parts for seawater desalination and process water applications, according to pressure range, corrosion conditions, and EPC specifications. Stainless steel construction was selected where required according to process conditions and corrosion considerations.
Temperature Measurement
Industrial thermometers were supplied with appropriate measuring ranges, insertion lengths, and connection types according to the specific requirements of the desalination and boiler feedwater systems.
Documentation & Quality Control
All instruments were delivered with complete calibration certificates, material test certificates (MTCs), and technical datasheets, ensuring full traceability and compliance with project requirements.
