The TFM Active Lime Plant is a supporting facility for the Tenke Fungurume Mining (TFM) copper-cobalt mining complex in the DRC. The lime plant was constructed to meet TFM's internal demand for lime in the copper-cobalt beneficiation process, eliminating the need for costly third-party imports.
The lime plant project began construction in January 2020 and successfully achieved ignition on October 27, 2020. With a production capacity of 600 tons of quicklime per day, the facility includes a rotary kiln and auxiliary equipment where continuous temperature and pressure monitoring is required for stable operation, product quality and process safety.
