1. Project Overview

Anhui Tiankang Group served as the instrumentation package supplier for the Turkey Duzce Cam 300t/d photovoltaic glass production line EPC project, delivering thermocouples, RTDs, and instrumentation accessories in March 2022. Anhui Tiankang acted as a sub-supplier to the EPC contractor, providing engineered instrumentation supply and EPC documentation support. The supplied instrumentation supports reliable temperature measurement throughout the glass melting furnace, conditioning section, and annealing lehr, providing critical data for stable glass production and quality control.

The project, located in Duzce, Turkey, is owned by Duzce Cam Glass Company, one of Turkey's leading flat glass manufacturers. The EPC contract was signed with China Triumph International Engineering Co., Ltd. (CTIEC), a subsidiary of China National Building Material Group (CNBM). The project is the first photovoltaic glass production line built by a Chinese EPC contractor in Turkey and was the largest such line in the country at the time of construction. It was built entirely using Chinese standards, technology, and equipment.

The project withstood extraordinary challenges during construction: the COVID-19 pandemic, a 6.1 magnitude earthquake on November 23, 2022, and a 7.8 magnitude earthquake on February 6, 2023. Despite these obstacles, the production line successfully achieved ignition on June 25, 2024, and entered the commissioning and acceptance phase in mid-July 2024.

3. Project Technology – Application Context

3.1 Photovoltaic Glass Production Process

The production line manufactures photovoltaic glass with a melting capacity of 300 tons per day, sufficient to support 4GW of solar module production annually. The glass melting furnace operates at temperatures exceeding 1,500°C, requiring specialized high-temperature thermocouples capable of maintaining accuracy and stability under extreme conditions.

3.2 Complete Chinese Standards and Technology

This project was built entirely using Chinese standards, technology, and equipment. For Duzce Cam, whose previous two float glass lines had used exclusively European technology and equipment, this represented a significant shift in trust toward Chinese EPC capability. The project demonstrates the competitiveness of Chinese glass manufacturing technology in the European market.

3.3 Project Significance

The project's successful completion demonstrates the resilience of the project team and established a foundation for CTIEC's subsequent 800 t/d project in Turkey, which became the largest photovoltaic glass production line in Europe and Western Asia upon ignition on September 19, 2025. This project represents an important expansion of Chinese EPC capability in the European photovoltaic glass sector and serves as a reference for Chinese contractors entering this market.

4. Engineering Solution

Our selection and supply were based on CTIEC's specifications, process conditions, and site requirements.

Temperature Measurement – Furnace Application

Thermocouple assemblies were configured according to furnace measurement locations, considering operating temperature, process atmosphere, sensor insertion length, protection tube material, and installation requirements specified by the EPC contractor. Sensor designs were selected for long-term stability and reliability in continuous high-temperature service, minimizing the need for frequent replacement during the furnace campaign.

Temperature Measurement – Conditioning & Lehr Sections

RTDs were supplied with appropriate sheath materials, insertion lengths, process connections, and measuring ranges according to the temperature control requirements of the conditioning section and annealing lehr.

Documentation & Quality Control

All instruments were delivered with complete calibration certificates, material test certificates (MTCs), and technical datasheets, ensuring full traceability and compliance with project requirements.

5. Project Execution

Execution followed the EPC contractor's project schedule and quality requirements. Anhui Tiankang Group established dedicated coordination to ensure alignment between supply and site installation.

  • On-Time Delivery: All instrumentation packages were delivered in March 2022, meeting the EPC contractor's site installation schedule.
