1. Project Overview

Anhui Tiankang Group served as the instrumentation package supplier for the Turkey Modern Karton PM6 Paperboard Mill EPC project, delivering pressure gauges, industrial thermometers, and instrumentation accessories in October 2022. Anhui Tiankang acted as a sub-supplier to the EPC contractor, providing engineered instrumentation supply and EPC documentation support. The supplied instrumentation supports reliable pressure and temperature measurement throughout the steam systems, pulping process, and wastewater treatment facilities, providing critical data for safe and efficient paper production.

The project, located in Zonguldak, Turkey, is owned by Modern Karton, a subsidiary of Eren Holding and one of Turkey's largest packaging paper producers. The EPC contract was formally signed on October 22, 2021, between HEI and Eren Holding. The production line integrates a high-speed paper machine with an 8.5-meter width and 2,000 m/min design speed, designed for an annual production capacity of approximately 640,000–700,000 tons.

The project successfully achieved pulp feeding and start-up on August 15, 2025, produced its first reel of containerboard on August 28, 2025, and reached full commercial operation in Q4 2025.

3. Project Technology – Application Context

3.1 Paper Machine & Steam System

The production line integrates a high-speed paper machine with an 8.5-meter width and 2,000 m/min design speed, producing 70-100 gsm containerboard and corrugated base paper. The paper machine drying section and auxiliary steam systems rely on a complex steam distribution network segmented into five principal pipeline branches: external pipe rack, wastewater, chemical, paper machine workshop, and pulping workshop steam systems. Reliable steam pressure and temperature monitoring is essential for maintaining stable drying performance and production efficiency.

3.2 Wastewater Treatment

The plant includes a wastewater treatment facility with a daily processing capacity of 20,160 cubic meters, supporting the mill's environmental compliance and sustainability goals.

3.3 Project Significance

This project represents an important expansion of HEI's EPC capability into the light industrial papermaking sector and serves as a reference for Chinese EPC contractors entering non-power business domains.

Pressure Measurement

Pressure gauge materials and pressure ratings were selected according to steam system requirements, process conditions, and EPC specifications. Stainless steel pressure gauge cases and pressure-containing components were selected according to process requirements and steam service conditions across the paper mill's five principal steam branches.

Temperature Measurement

Industrial thermometers were selected with appropriate measuring ranges, dial sizes, insertion lengths, and connection types according to HEI's specifications and the specific requirements of each steam system location. Thermometer designs were configured for the demanding paper mill environment, including consideration of vibration, installation conditions, and continuous operation.

Documentation & Quality Control

All instruments were delivered with complete calibration certificates, material test certificates (MTCs), and technical datasheets, ensuring full traceability and compliance with project requirements.

5. Project Execution

Execution followed the EPC contractor's project schedule and quality requirements. Anhui Tiankang Group established dedicated coordination to ensure alignment between supply and site installation.
